Follow Hwy 20 West from Yube City or East from I-5 or Colusa
Turn North on Acacia Ave in Sutter

The SYO building is located across from and past Sutter High School

Parking is available at Sutter High School and is first come, first served

Frequently Asked Questions
Are Electric Bikes allowed?
Yes.  Electric-assist bikes are welcome and are treated as normal riders.  Rest Areas will be opened and closed based on the speed of normal riders


When and How do I sign-up for the 2024 ride?
You can sign-up here, at BikearoundtheButtes.com, by downloading the mail-in form,  or visiting our "Registration" page and click on the link to Active.com or by coming to the "Day of" Registration booth on the day of the Ride.  Register early as the prices are  higher on ride day.

How do I get to the Sutter Youth Organization (SYO) Building so I can check in and ride?
Check out our map above to get turn by turn directions to our starting location.

Take Hwy 20 West from Yuba City or East from Interstate 5, turn North on Acacia Ave. The building is located across the street and just past Sutter High School at the corner of Acacia Ave and Butte House Road.  Parking is available at the high school.  You will be directed where to park when you enter the lot.

How difficult are the courses really? (Hilly or Flat)
All courses contain a 7 mile stretch of rolling hills.  These slight hills make a total modest incline of 350 ft with a maximum grade of 3%.  

What is at the Rest Stops?
In addition to our friendly Lions Club volunteers, each rest stop has a variety of energy sustaining foods. While each rest stop will vary slightly, you will generally find water, Gatorade, oranges, kiwis, bananas, rice cakes, peanut butter and jelly for sandwiches, licorice, fresh baked flavored breads,sports drinks, GU Gel, garlic potatoes and energy bars and much more. Every rest stop is equipped with bathrooms, sunscreen, a first aid kit, and a radio support person (SAG).  

Will there be help for riders on the courses?
All courses will have drivers touring with the riders to react to safety concerns.  Each will have cell phones and a HAM Radio operator connected to our Safety Officer.  They are able to load up and transport disabled bikes and riders.

What's for Lunch?
The French Whisk is serving an impressive Baked Potato Bar with your choice of russet or sweet potato, a wide array of topings including beef and chicken.  Drinks are included including bottled spring water, iced tea, sodas.  Beer will be available for purchase.

There are many more in Yuba City, Marysville, Colusa, Live Oak and Gridley.  Sutter is a small community so you will have to drive a short distance from accommodations.
